Synbiosis has developed world-leading colony counting and inhibition zone measurement technology since 1985 to bring you the innovative AutoCOL, ProtoCOL 3, Protos 3 and aCOLyte 3 systems. Within these ranges you’ll find the ideal colony counter or zone sizing system to suit your budget and applications.
Fast colony counts
You can use a ProtoCOL 3, Protos 3 or an aCOLyte 3 for microbial limits testing with any pharmaceutical sample to accurately count bacteria and yeast colonies from serial dilutions on spiral plates and membranes on plates post membrane filtration. The systems will rapidly provide you with a precise total viable count (TVC/TVAC) making them ideal for applications such as disinfectant testing and media quality control. The ProtoCOL 3 can also be used in a GMP environment for validation of the bioburden in ingredients and finished pharmaceuticals by safety testing including Ames, stability and preservative efficacy testing.
Exceptional colour differentiation
With ProtoCOL 3 and Protos 3’s unrivalled colour differentiation technology you can count pathogens such as Staphylococcus and E.coli on selective agar, quickly and easily. The ProtoCOL 3 system’s colour analysis is so impressive it can be used in vaccine testing, to deliver precise counts of minute red colonies post OPKA (opsonophagocytic killing assay) or SBA (serum bactericidal assay).
Easy zone measurement
The ProtoCOL 3 system is ideal if you’re using microbial inhibition in vaccine or antibiotic manufacture as a measure of efficacy. ProtoCOL 3 saves you time and effort by automating zone sizing of single radial immunodiffusion (SRD) plates and antibiotic susceptibility testing methods.
Rapid analysis
With the simple to use software in Synbiosis systems, you can automatically count colonies and produce zone measurements, effortlessly providing you with realistic images and accurate data in seconds. The ProtoCOL 3 software can be integrated into a 21CFR Part 11 environment making it easy to achieve GLP and GMP compliance.
